If EVERY MONTH there need to be so many dang patches, many of tem to "plug security issues", and that has been like that for years, statistically it means next year it will go on being like that too. Personally, dependency on ANY piece of software that just has to update nearly every week is an intelligent thing to do, as a matter of simple common sense. And now they go put the requirement back again in the new launcher? Riiight. So exact same thing here: Mojang said not needing java for the game anymore was better because more stable - reducing dependency on java was a better approach. I think he means "What's the point of having made the game not need java on your PC anymore (by using a proprietary "already in-the-game java instead) if the launcher itself now needs it? Kinda like how someone that saved tons of money in reducing the amount of paid-for industrial storage space he needed, proudly said so, and then one month later went renting a really big apartment instead.
